Bramaya is an Austin based West African Dance and Drum Ensemble which combines new musical ideas with traditional West African rhythms and dance.  Bramaya was founded and is led by Master Percussionist, Aboubacar Sylla. The group is named in honor of his father's village in Guinea, West Africa.

Aboubacar Sylla has been performing professionally for over 25 years, and loves teaching and sharing the music, dance, and culture of West Africa throughout the United States and around the world. 

Bramaya performs at a wide variety of venues in the Austin metropolitan area, and beyond, including stage performances, festivals, cultural and educational events, conferences, and private events including charity events, private parties, and business retreats.  Bramaya delivers an energetic and exhilarating performance that blends music and dance to create a distinctively unique experience.  Events can be customized for all age groups or audiences to include participation or educational workshops in addition to performance.
